Dear MCHVF Families,
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to extend a warm welcome as we embark on the 2024/25 school year at Montessori Children’s House of Valley Forge! I hope you all had a fun and relaxing summer with family and friends.
For those of you I haven’t yet met, my name is Krysta Hopp and I am succeeding Martin Highley as Board President. My history with the school spans many decades, as I am an alumna from the Class of 1987, one of only five in the entire Kindergarten class. While the school has since grown significantly in size, there are many aspects that remain the same almost 40 years later – our strong and welcoming community, best-in-class teachers, and a nurturing learning environment that embraces Montessori principles. As life often comes full circle, it has been incredibly rewarding seeing my oldest son, Tyler, now attend the very school that has always been so special to me.
Our talented teachers have been busy preparing the classrooms to welcome back our students this year. They are beyond grateful to have access to such unique and high-quality Montessori materials, many of which were gifted by our generous parents last year. As the year progresses, there will be more opportunities for our community to continue supporting our school through fundraising efforts, such as the Annual Giving Campaign, which helps fund special projects for our students.
We will also continue many of our traditions this year, such as the Ice Cream Social, Yaeger’s Farm Field Trip, Grand-Friends Day, and the Spring Fling. In addition, we will again welcome parents into the classroom as Mystery Readers and more. If you are new to MCHVF, we encourage you to attend these community events as it’s a wonderful way to learn about the school and meet other families.
On a final note, I’d like to thank the Board of Directors for their continued time and dedication; they are a passionate and talented group of volunteers who go above and beyond for MCHVF. Thank you Jung Lee, Kara Brigandi, Julia Sturniolo, Andrew Owen, Kathy Justi, Tom Bartolacci, Reshma Shah, and Mitch Favrow for all you do.
Looking forward to another fantastic year!
All the best,
Krysta Hopp ’87
MCHVF Board President
